Rodent pests affect people in a variety of ways, from causing structural damage and contaminating food, to spreading disease. To reduce human-rodent interactions requires knowledge of rodent behavior and biology. In this informative educational session, Matt Frye, a Community IPM Extension Area Educator for the State of New York, shares insights about the role of rodents in disease transmission. By their very nature, rodents make excellent “vehicles” for harboring and rapidly transporting diseases, so it’s important for PMPs to be able to effectively articulate the very real threat posed by rodents to their customers. Speaker: Matt Frye, Community IPM Extension Area Educator, New York State Integrated Pest Management, Cornell University
